About Us

The Cognitive Science Program provides interdisciplinary training in the science of the human mind. We prepare our students with theoretical and experimental foundations of cognitive science, along with unique opportunities for laboratory and field research. We offer COGS BA, BS, minor, and a graduate certificate for doctoral and continuing education students.

The Cognitive Science Program is comprised of more than 50 faculty members from over a dozen departments. Our faculty affiliates lead internationally renowned research programs in cognitive science, and teach and mentor CogSci students in classroom, laboratory, and fieldwork settings.

Our program advances UConn’s mission of fostering innovative scholarship, diversity, and facilitating faculty-student interactions outside the classrooms. Since its inception, the Cognitive Science Program has been seeking out new perspectives, expanding our community, and empowering underrepresented voices. By working to change traditional preconceptions of what a scientist looks and acts like, the program aims to be the stewards of the next generation of scientific leaders in academia, industry, and society.
