Undergraduate Advising
Advising for undergraduate students is coordinated by faculty advisors in the Cognitive Science Department and academic advisors in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) Academic Services Center.
Upon declaring the COGS major, Freshmen, Sophomores, and transfer students will be assigned a primary staff advisor, Corina Morris. Juniors and Seniors will be assigned a faculty co-advisor. All Honors Program students, regardless of their semester standing, will be assigned to an Honors faculty advisor. You can always see your current advisors in Student Administration.

Juniors and Seniors
Make an appointment in Nexus to meet with your faculty advisor.
Please include your PeopleSoft number in all correspondence. Your advisor will generally respond to you within 24-48 hours, Monday through Friday.
Meeting with your Advisor
We encourage students to make an appointment with their academic advisor upon entrance into the program.
Your advisor will work with you to create or update your plan of study, and to make sure you meet both the CLAS general education requirements and the specific COGS major/minor requirements. The plan of study is a formal document specifying what is required for the successful completion of your COGS degree.
